Importance of Carbs

Have you ever got half way through your lifting session or workout and noticed you have no energy left? Most of the time that comes from lack of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are our bodies number one source of energy. Think of carbs like the gas needed to fuel your car. Without gas, a car cant run. Same as your body, without carbs, your body will not have the fuel it requires to support your physical activity. When you eat carbohydrates your body digests them and they convert into smaller sugar molecules called glucose. Glucose is stored in the liver and muscles to be used as fuel during any physical activity. For people that are scared to add carbs to their diet, try keeping your carbs around your workout!
