Meal Prep…Make it Priority
So after a very long and busy weekend I was still able to get to Trader Joe’s and get my meal prep done. I know for most of you this is where you struggle and need the most help. For me I have made meal prep a priority and make it a point to get it done. Not only does it save money but it also insures that I do not make bad choices.
Here are some things to consider and that might help you:
First, I suggest picking one day out of the week and start with just maybe one or two meals for that upcoming week.
Next, do what you know. You do not have to be the next Master Chef or choose a recipe you have never followed.
Last, remember Mise En Place which means “putting in place” or “everything in its place.” It refers to the set up required before cooking, and is often used in professional kitchens to refer to organizing and arranging the ingredients. So basically once ready to start meal prep, get everything together and ready to go. STAY ORGANIZED.
Here is what my Meal prep looked like this week…
6 Eggs (4 whole/2 Whites)
Over Night Oats
1 Cup Almond Milk
1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
2 tbsp Peanut Butter
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein
1 Cup of Organic White Rice
1/4 Cup Organic Black Beans
8oz Organic Shredded Chicken Breast
1 Cup Organic Brown Rice/Quinoa Pasta
8oz Chicken Italian Sausage
1/2 Cup Frozen Roasted Bell Peppers
1/4 Cup Organic Marinara Sauce
*Total Prep time about 90 minutes. No calorie counting, no macro counting. Just basic measurements!
